Neighbourhood Renewal News
A Place for Neighbourhood Renewal Projects
Neighbourhood Renewal is a state government initiative aimed at narrowing
the gap between the most disadvantaged communities in Victoria and the rest
of the state. To achieve this aim it tackles local causes of disadvantage.
It focuses on people and the place where they live, learn, work and play. It
engages residents and builds working partnerships between government,
business, service providers and the local community.
Broadmeadows Community Neighbourhood Renewal - often known as BCNR -
operates in the area of Broadmeadows bounded by Camp Road, Jack Roper
Reserve, Western Ring Road and Pascoe Vale Road. It has been operational in
Broadmeadows since 2003 and since then has worked in partnership with local
residents and a range agencies on many short and long term projects
developed to meet the needs of the local community.
